Draft — not final. Fit Together is in pre-launch development. This page describes our intended privacy practices in plain language so early visitors and founding members know what to expect. It is a working draft pending review by qualified privacy counsel, and will be finalized before public launch and before any personal data is collected beyond a waitlist signup.
1. What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains what information Fit Together ("we," "us") plans to collect through our website and mobile app, how we intend to use it, who we may share it with, and the choices we plan to give you. It applies to visitors of fit-together.health and to future app users.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email or phone number, date of birth, and gender identity, collected to create and verify your account.
- Verification data: a selfie/liveness capture and identity signals processed through a third-party verification provider, used to confirm you're a real person and meet our age requirements.
- Profile information: photos, activity and fitness preferences, workout schedule, intent (partner, dating, or both), and any bio or prompts you choose to share.
- Location information: an approximate location or ZIP code used to show nearby matches, and, only when you choose to check in, a general-area location for a limited time. We do not display your exact home address to other members.
- Usage & device information: app interactions, messages metadata (not message content beyond what's needed for moderation and safety), device type, and log data.
- Communications: messages between members, and communications you send to our support, press, or partnership contacts.
3. How we plan to use your information
- To create, verify, and secure your account.
- To power matching and discovery — including activity, schedule, distance, and lifestyle compatibility.
- To operate Active Now check-ins and expire them automatically once your selected window ends.
- To detect fraud, fake accounts, and unsafe behavior, and to respond to reports.
- To communicate with you about your account, safety notices, and (with your consent) product updates.
- To improve the product using aggregated or de-identified data where possible.
4. Location privacy
Location is central to how Fit Together works, so we intend to build it around a few non-negotiable rules: your exact home address is never shown to other members; discovery and check-ins are based on approximate distance or a general area you control; and you choose the visibility of each check-in — everyone nearby, verified users only, matches only, or fitness partners only. Check-ins are designed to expire automatically.
5. How we may share information
- With other members, limited to what your profile and check-in visibility settings allow.
- Publicly on our website, for approved workout videos only: once a video you upload passes review, it may be featured on the public Fit Together homepage to showcase real community activity — visible to visitors browsing the site, not only signed-in members. Photos, your profile, and anything else you share stay visible only inside the app to other members, per your visibility settings above.
- With service providers who help us operate the platform — for example, identity verification, cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, and payment processing — under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- For safety and legal reasons, where we believe it's necessary to investigate abuse, enforce our terms, or comply with the law.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to continued protection of your information.
We do not plan to sell your personal information, and we intend to limit advertising in ways that would compromise the trust of the platform.
6. Data retention
We intend to retain account and profile data for as long as your account is active, and for a limited period after deletion to support safety investigations, legal obligations, and fraud prevention. Check-in location data is intended to be short-lived by design and deleted after expiration, except where retained briefly for safety review.
7. Your choices
- Access, correct, or delete your profile information from within the app.
- Control who can see your check-ins and approximate location.
- Opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to limited safety and legal retention.
8. Age eligibility
Fit Together is intended for adults only. We plan to require age verification during account creation and to remove accounts that don't meet our minimum age requirement.
9. Security
We intend to use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and separate development, staging, and production environments. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll be transparent if that ever changes what you need to know.
10. Changes to this policy
As Fit Together moves from planning to launch, this policy will be reviewed by qualified counsel and updated to reflect our actual practices, applicable law, and app-store requirements. We'll post the effective date at the top of this page and notify users of material changes.
